Virtual Therapy for Adults and Teens
in Oregon

MY APPROACH

My expertise in child and family therapy, anxiety, depression, and identity formation helps teens and adults through every life phase, offering new insights and building skills to navigate their lives and relationships.

As a parent, spouse, and working professional, I understand the challenges we face in each new life phase. I find joy and satisfaction in partnering with others who are seeking support in their own journeys to self-realization. I am an LQBTQIA+ ally and strive to provide anti-oppressive, decolonizing, and trauma-informed collaboration and support.

HOW IT WORKS

CONSULT & BENEFITS INQUIRY

Contact me directly for a 15 minute consultation to learn more about whether we are a good fit.  If so, I’ll give you instructions for getting more details about your insurance benefits before getting started.

INTAKE & ASSESSMENT

We will meet for an hour to begin the assessment process, though this process may continue into the next following sessions as I get to know you. We’ll discuss your goals, your hopes for change, what is going well in life and what you want to improve, and we’ll talk about anything else that is relevant and informs your current life situation.  From here you will be given a formal (though perhaps provisional) diagnosis, as well as a plan for treatment.  Though I do not rely greatly on a formal diagnosis, this is essential for ensuring your insurance company will cover your services.  This diagnosis can and likely will change over the course of our work together.

BEGIN THERAPY

We will discuss your schedule and find a cadence that works for you. I will initially recommend weekly therapy appointments to ensure we have adequate time together, and so that you have the support you need.  Eventually we may decide to meet less frequently.  We will meet in the same confidential, private, and secure virtual office for each session.

THERAPY METHODS

(CBT) Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

CBT is a structured, goal-oriented form of psychotherapy that helps individuals identify and change negative or unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. It focuses on developing practical strategies to address current problems and improve emotional regulation.

(ACT) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

ACT helps individuals embrace their thoughts and feelings rather than fighting or avoiding them. It emphasizes living in alignment with personal values while developing mindfulness and psychological flexibility to handle life’s challenges.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy is a type of talk therapy that helps people understand the origins of their problems by exploring their unconscious thoughts, feelings, and past experiences. The goal is to help people develop psychological skills that can lead to better choices and long-term well-being.

(DBT) Dialectical Behavior Therapy

DBT is a specialized form of cognitive-behavioral therapy designed to help individuals manage intense emotions, improve interpersonal relationships, and develop coping skills. It combines acceptance strategies with techniques for change, focusing on mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Narrative Therapy

Narrative therapy focuses on separating individuals from their problems by exploring the stories they tell about their lives. It helps people reframe their experiences, identify strengths, and create empowering new narratives that promote growth and well-being.

With the right support, life’s challenges can become an opportunity for growth, healing, and self-discovery – turning what feels overwhelming into a journey of empowerment and purpose.

INSURANCE OPTIONS

Insurance and self-pay options are available. If you live in Oregon and have commercial health insurance, you may have therapy benefits.

I recommend you either contact your insurance company to inquire about your benefits, or the team at Mindful Therapy Group can do the research for you.  You can call this number to get help with this process: 971-352-6971.
